The Eastern High scheme will deliver high quality, low energy mainstream homes
We’re supporting Wates Residential & Cardiff Council to deliver 214 new homes for sale and rent here. Built to an average of SAP100 with the full suite of low/zero carbon technologies and control, the project is also a demonstrator for our VALUER research.
The Eastern High scheme will deliver high quality, low energy mainstream homes built with a ‘fabric first’ approach as part of the ongoing partnership between Cardiff Council and Wates Residential. With Sero’s involvement, the project is incorporating borehole heat pumps, battery and thermal storage, and photovoltaics arrays.
These are all integrated within the homes behind intelligent controls installed and operated by Sero, allowing the residents the option of the Sero Life home comforts service. The project will also be a UK first pilot to test ways to pay for low/zero carbon technologies, with purchasers having the option of new tailored mortgage products, or spreading the cost against their energy bill savings.
